In a central Indian state, tribes have been fighting to save their forest and homes from what’s below them: coal. Yet the fuel mined here will not benefit the forest’s residents. Instead, it will be sent across the country to a state which struggles to keep the lights on. A state that just happens to also be at the heart of India’s solar revolution.
