Convening at CNN’s state-of-the-art hub in Abu Dhabi in December 2024, almost 150 aspiring and emerging journalists from around the world engaged in a dynamic and immersive journalism simulation focused on storytelling in the age of AI.

Latin America is a region facing pressing challenges, such as climate change and social inequality. After five years of training young storytellers at universities in Ecuador and Peru, CNN Academy launched its first-ever Spanish-language simulation program in 2024 in collaboration with the Universidad Iberoamericana de México.

In December 2023, 110 participants from CNN Academy worldwide converged in Abu Dhabi for the second edition of the Climate Storytelling Simulation. Hosted at the state-of-the-art Yas Creative Hub, this immersive program centered on climate reporting, uniting emerging journalists in a week-long experience of intensive journalism training.
